Sciatic Pain
“I work for a group of doctors at Mid-City OBGYN. Dr. Leslie Churchill has a chiropractic office in the same building, as my employer. She came highly recommended for her Graston therapy. Many of my co-workers had used Dr. Churchill’s services and were very happy with the results.
I had suffered from sciatic nerve pain for over 12 years, and was not hopeful anything more could be done, but then again, I had nothing to lose. I started seeing Dr. Churchill on an average of 2 times a week for about a month. I can’t explain how good I started to feel, even after a week. It was definitely an incentive to continue the Graston treatments. In less than 2 months, I was literally pain-free, for the first time in 12 years! Though, I do have flare-ups with arthritis in my spine, I have had no re-occurring sciatic nerve pain. I continue to do my stretches, as recommended by Dr. Churchill.
I wish someone would have recommended Graston therapy years ago. I recommend it to anyone who would like to be pain-free again.”

Post-surgical knee pain/Joint replacement
“I had my knee replaced after 30 years of injuries and surgeries. During the first 8 weeks after surgery I had traditional physical therapy and during that time I went from 80 degrees of mobility to 90 degrees. My doctor had me back in the hospital to put me under anesthesia and force my knee to bend (Manipulation Under Anesthesia). He mentioned at that point that I had significant scar tissue in and around the knee. Following that I had two straight weeks of physical therapy and finished that at 93 degrees. I was also able to walk no more than 100 feet without having to sit down due to the pain. At that point my doctor had me stop physical therapy except for home therapy. He mentioned if my mobility did not improve I was looking at arthroscopic surgery to remove scar tissue and, if that didn’t work, to reopen the knee to remove more scar tissue.
It was at this point that I found out about Dr. Churchill and the Graston Technique. After 6 weeks of treatment 2 times per week, I was able to walk 1.5 miles and my mobility went from 95 to 125 degrees. During the past month after my initial treatment ended, I have been in for Graston treatment twice and am now up to 2 miles and 130 degrees of mobility. I can't begin to express my appreciation to Dr. Churchill for what she has done for me. Since my treatment with her I can honestly say I'm glad I had the surgery. I am just thrilled that my day is better now than it was prior to my surgery. I had been on pain pills, fairly regularly, for the better part of the past 7 years and now rarely need them. To think now that I just need to see her a few times a month instead of medication, I am extremely pleased.”

Numbness/Tingling & Pain in Hand, Forearm
“When I went to see Dr. Churchill, I had such severe pain in my arm at night that I would only get 4 hours sleep. Pain medicine didn’t help me. After ONE treatment at Mid City Chiropractic with the Graston Technique and chiropractic care, I slept all through the night! Slowly the pain and numbness has gone away. It has now been over 8 weeks and there is no pain and very little numbness, which is only brief during some mornings. If I do my exercises she has prescribed, the pain and tingling go away immediately.
At other doctor’s offices, I would tell them about my problems of pain/numbness in my fingers, hand, arm, and shoulder and they would just work on my back and neck. At Dr. Churchill’s office, she directed her treatment to the area I actually had the pain. Based on my results, I have told everyone I know about the Graston treatment. It is wonderful!!”

Shoulder, Arm, and Hand Pain
“The Graston Technique has been an excellent therapy for the persistent pain in my arms and hands. I had even explored surgery as an option prior to this, but since using this method, I truly have never felt better. I highly recommend this treatment to anyone who has had arm, shoulder and hand pain. I noticed results after only a few visits, but more importantly, they have lasted well beyond the therapy itself.
I have been to several other chiropractors in the past, but Dr. Churchill is the only one who has made a lasting difference in the way she has helped alleviate my pain and discomfort. She spent the time on my initial visit to make sure she understood my condition and then provided specific treatments that have truly helped manage the pain and discomfort. She is the only chiropractor I have been to who did such a thorough exam before starting treatment.
I would without question recommend a visit to her. Very thorough and professional!!”

Elbow Pain
“I’ve been a sonographer for 28 years and had developed severe pain in my elbow. It would come and go but after a period of time became constant. I would literally lift my left arm with my right hand because of the pain that would occur while trying to bend my left elbow. A fellow sonographer told me about Dr. Churchill and the Graston Technique. After several treatments over a period of a couple months, I am pain free. I no longer have the expense of anti-inflammatory meds, physical therapy or doctor appointments. I feel Dr. Churchill and the Graston Technique have turned around what I thought to be a career-ending injury.
I liked the holistic atmosphere of Dr. Churchill’s office. Her knowledge of holistic practices and her attentiveness to my needs goes far beyond the regular medical office visit. My questions were always answered and I was encouraged to call anytime other questions would arise.”

Sports Injury Pain
“I am a long-distance runner so I have experienced numerous injuries over the years. This past year, I began experiencing pain in my hip region. After several appointments and misdiagnoses from my orthopedist, I became increasingly frustrated. I began physical therapy. In the past, PT has always helped; however, this time the pain continued. I was to the point of not running at all and was ready to try anything to help.
I had never tried a chiropractor before because I was unclear on how he or she could help. I had met Dr. Churchill at the Omaha Marathon Expo. On my first visit, she spent an entire hour with me asking me questions, listening to me talk, moving my hip and back around, etc. I was so impressed with the time she was giving me. I felt like she actually cared and was willing to find the problem instead of just sending me away and telling me to quit running. Through the examination, she found a very tight back muscle. It turns out that was causing all the problems. My orthopedist never even mentioned it could be a back issue! Dr. Churchill did the Graston Technique on my back and provided me with some exercises to try at home. By the next day, I was running again! I was completely pain free within a week, and she has kept me running ever since. I have recommended Dr. Churchill to others and am now a firm believer in chiropractic care.”

Torticollis
“When my son was two months old we knew something wasn’t quite right. He always looked to the right and he never turned his head to the left. We took him to his pediatrician and she diagnosed him with severe torticollis and prescribed physical therapy for him. We immediately got him in to correct the problem. The stretches that we had to do were very painful for him. We had to do these stretches several times per day and it probably took over an hour to complete them. He cried the whole entire time no matter what you would do to distract him, but we still did them because that is what he needed. We had to teach his daycare provider how to do them too because he had to have them done several times throughout the day. Several months into therapy my son was not getting any better. The physical therapist said at one visit that since he wasn’t improving we needed to consult a surgeon and then when he was one year old he would need to have surgery. The last thing that a parent wants is their child to have an intense surgery like the one they were discussing so I was desperate for another option. The doctors and therapists had nothing for me. They said surgery was the next step and there was no guarantee that it would work and after the surgery there would be a ton of pain and a lot more physical therapy. Well I decided to look up torticollis on the internet to see if any parents had any suggestions. A ton of parents had already had great success with chiropractic care so I figured I would ask the physical therapist what she thought. She was 100% against it and said there was no way it would help, but at the same time she couldn’t give me any reasons not to try it either. Well I had already done my research and I was lucky enough to find Dr. Churchill who was willing to give it a try. She had worked with torticollis and children before and she didn’t give me any guarantees that it would work 100%, but that she had had good results in the past.
So we went in for our first appointment and I was a bit nervous. I had never been to a chiropractor before and was taking my baby to one (my son was 6 months old when he started seeing her). We went in for our first appointment and my son didn’t cry at all. He just laid there on the table and let her do her thing (he almost acted as though it felt good). She basically did a really deep tissue massage on his neck muscles. She also gently adjusted his spine and that didn’t bother him at all. After our appointment I noticed an immediate difference. My son could not turn his head to left hardly at all before we went and within 10 minutes of leaving Dr. Churchill’s office he could turn it twice as far. We went back to Dr. Churchill for a few months and she would pretty much just stretch out his muscles. Every single week we would see an improvement. It was never painful for him and it worked. Within a week of starting with Dr. Churchill I stopped doing the at home stretches that weren’t working anyways. We saw Dr. Churchill about once per week for 2 months and then after the 3rd month went back for a follow-up to make sure it would be okay. My son also had low muscle tone so he had to continue with Physical Therapy but we actually switched to a different company. When he was evaluated with them they said he didn’t have any evidence of torticollis anymore and this was before the entire 3 months with Dr. Churchill was up. My son is now 2 ½ and he is perfectly fine. He hasn’t needed to be seen by Dr. Churchill or any physical therapist in over a year.
If your child has torticollis or any other spine or health condition, I would highly recommend Dr. Churchill. I am so thankful for what she did for my son. He never had to have any more painful physical therapy appointments or surgery.”
